During my stay in Cebu Philippines I supposedly had to try their famous Lechon. Lechon is a whole pig usually slow spit-roasted over open fire or charcoal. Cooking the hog this way guarantees the skin becomes crispy, the meat juicy and tender. So I went to a Michelin rated spot that does lechon. House of Lechon.

This is the kind of place you dine in with a small group of friends or a family gathering. It gives Olive Garden vibes minus the Italians and Italian food. But instead replace all that with Philippine cuisine, local authenticity & some good pork. During my solo visit here I got a personal spread with 1/8 LB of lechon. Pork isn’t my go to protein of choice, but when in Rome do as the Romans do.

I got to enjoy lechon noodle soup in the bottom left, hanging rice top right, ube smoothie & 1/8 LB lechon with pork drippings sauce. This spread cost me a total of 644 PHP which is around $10.99 USD. That’s a reasonable price for an excellent taste of lechon in Cebu Philippines. All the food here tastes great. The lechon skin is the real star with its crispy, crunchy bite & explosive porky pork flavor. Even though things got a little spicy for me here, the food at least is easily recommendable. 8/10 will recommend House of Lechon.
